Inspired by the way weathering and oxidation move across ancient bronze and stone sculpture - pooling in low areas, breaking over ridges, and tracing every curve of the form beneath. 1.2 The gesture
Poured paint on raw garment
The original was created by pouring paint over a finished white garment, letting it respond to the wider shoulders and run inward and back out as it fell down the torso - a direct imprint of the curves of the form beneath.
1.3 The translation
From canvas to fabric
The painted original was cut apart at the seams, laid flat, scanned in high resolution, and digitally printed onto new fabric to preserve the authentic look of the original piece.
1.4 The form
Where it finds shape
The artwork comes to life on the garment, placed with intention, yet allowed to move with the body. As the fabric drapes and shifts, the composition reveals itself differently from every angle.
